Vijayawada, 14th September, 2015: Pragati Group signed a land mark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Department of Tourism, Government of Andhra Pradesh for development of “World Class Biodiversity Knowledge and theme Park” in Visakhapatnam District. Pragati’s proposed Biodiversity Park is coming up at Tangudubilli Village, Mutcherla Panchayath, Anandapuram Mandal in Visakhapatnam district with an investment outlay of Rs. 300 crores. The Government of A.P. is in the process of alienation of land for the Project.
The MOU signing marked the launch of A.P. Government’s ‘Tourism Mission and Tourism Policy 2015 – 20’ here on Monday at Hotel Taj Gateway by N Chandra Babu Naidu, chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It is a part of the Department of Tourism, Govt. of A.P’s initiative for Tourism Development. As a part of the initiative the Government has planned several significant activities towards achieving fast paced growth in the Tourism sector.
Pragati’s proposed world class biodiversity Knowledge and theme park has its own unique features with about 32 thematic components which is first of its kind Bio-Diversity Tourism Project. Each of these components serve as a vehicle for bio-diversity, entertainment, tourist attraction and knowledge centres constructed around the principle theme of wilderness. A project of this stature and detail would cater to both national & international tourist interests. This project is expected to emerge as a land mark and enhance the Brand image of the state in general and Visakhapatnam District in particular.
Pragati group known for its world famous Pragati Biodiversity Knowledge Park near Hyderabad also houses the Pragati Resorts. Pragati’s initiative for conservation of biodiversity and promotion of horticulture, Ayurveda, Naturopathy besides reviving the rich tradition of Indian Culture by promoting festival, agriculture, herbal, health, food, bio and eco tourism, all under one roof has been acknowledged by the global community.
Government and private bodies have acknowledged the notable contribution of Pragati as a global university for learning and skill development in Herbal plantations, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, other than the above mentioned areas. With these myriad hues of life enlivening the horizon of Pragati, the group plans to replicate the model in the proposed thorough the proposed Biodiversity Park at Tangudubilli village in Visakhapatnam.
A.P is home to world famous Tirumala Shrine which brings in large revenue and enjoys the longest coastline in the country. The Tourism mission and tourism policy comprises several measures to tap its tourism potential for development of the state. On this occasion 813 crores worth of registration of new projects and 3845 crores worth MoUs between 30 companies and the government of AP for setting up of tourism projects were signed.
The Govt. of A.P. has initiated steps for promotion and implementation of these Biodiversity knowledge and tourism parks all over the state considering their importance and ecological conservation and propagating awareness on biodiversity among the public. These projects will not only contribute to protect the earth from natural calamities, Global warming and deadly viruses but also provides considerable lung space for the people of this region. The Project is expected to emerge as one of the world hot Tourist spots besides having potential to generate both direct and indirect employment. The surrounding villagers are eagerly looking for this kind of projects which will enhance the quality of life and will provide livelihood.
